Our set of minerals includes each of the minerals listed above plus a 20 X power mini microscope.
This set of minerals is designed to be used with the ID Minerals textbook by Myrna Martin. Keys in this book teach how to eliminate groups of minerals to learn the identity of an unknown mineral.
Metallic or Non-Metallic Luster is an important key to eliminating minerals. If the mineral you pick up has a metallic luster you can eliminate all the non-metallic luster minerals.
Each chapter in the book explains other important keys to identifying a mineral.
It is much easier for students to learn how to identify different types of minerals when they read about them and look at pictures in their book. Students can then hold the minerals in their hands and study them close up with their 20 X power mini microscope.

Myrna taught Earth Science in public schools for a number of years. She introduced the topic of each science lesson at the beginning of the class. The video lessons are similar to the introductions she did in her classrooms. Each introduction is about 10 to 12 minutes long.
This set of minerals is designed to be used with the textbooks and videos by Myrna Martin available on this website.
